Time-Barred Returns: The GST Network (GSTN) has announced that businesses will be barred from filing monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns that are three years or more past their due date, starting from the November 2025 tax period.

Specific Deadlines: With effect from December 1, 2025, GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns due for October 2022, and the annual GSTR-9 for the 2020-21 fiscal year, will become time-barred.

GST Rate Cuts Impact: Recent GST rate cuts (effective September 22, 2025) on essential items and consumer durables have reportedly boosted consumer sentiment and manufacturing output in September.

NATIONAL ANTI-PROFITEERING AUTHORITY in the case of DGAP V/s Ireo Pvt. Ltd. and Ireo Residence Company Pvt. Ltd.

The National Anti-Profiteering Authority upheld DGAP’s investigation, confirming that M/s Ireo Grace Realtech Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Ireo Residences Pvt. Ltd. did not derive any additional Input Tax Credit (ITC) benefit post-GST. Applying the Delhi High Court’s ruling in Reckitt Benckiser India Pvt. Ltd. (2024), DGAP’s recalculation using the ITC-to-cost ratio revealed no profiteering. The Authority accepted DGAP’s report, validating the department’s methodology and findings, and dropped proceedings as no contravention of Section 171 was established.
